Some stories are just plain inspirational. They give us a snapshot of someone else’s life, and offer a glimpse of how life could be for us – from little motivations to broad visions of how our own futures may unfold.
When it comes to marriage, seeing happily connected elderly couples has this very effect. It’s endearing, of course, but more than that, it lets us know that marriage truly can grow over time, that couples can stay very much in love, even over the long haul.
In one such story (maybe the best of its kind), a couple in Spring Valley, New York celebrated an amazing milestone: 82 years of marriage!
With a combined age of 212 years old, they are mostly homebound, but very much alive and in love! Duranord and Jeanne Veillard were married in 1932, and are a shining example of the power of lasting love.
Check out the link below to learn more of their backstory, and let their long history guide you toward considering your own future and your own marriage. What can you do to build the kind of relationship that will last for more than 80 years?
Be inspired, and built the marriage you want to enjoy for the rest of your life.
